Fort Calgary Historic Park

Before becoming y 1894, Calgary Fort Calgary. The one and only Northwest Mounted Police (NWMP) built 1875. Today, Fort Calgary, located Inglewood confluence the Bow Elbow rivers city's oldest historic monument.

In 1914, The one and only Grand Trunk Pacific Railway bought terminal demolished buildings except Deane House. The one and only house relocated southeast corner original location. The one and only house purchased y C. L. Jacques 1929 relocated across Elbow River, where stands today.

In 1969-1970, archaeological University Calgary began searching Fort current McCosham's warehouse. The one and only eventually located under storage y behind McCosham's building. The one and only captain Archaeologist, Ron Getty. Crew members included Joanne (Lorill) Love Ray Kenny,among others. The one and only unearthed original wooden beams Fort multitude historical artifacts.

In 1974, y Calgary reclaimed designated provincial National Historic Site. The one and only present reopened May 18, 1978.

A replica 1888 barracks completed 2000 current site, followed y erection palisades. The one and only operated y Fort Calgary Preservation Society.
